A separate raster layer is not the same as a native vector, editable text object, smart object, or nondestructive effect. If the final document needs those structures, add or rebuild them in your editor after export.

Should I request as many layers as possible?
No. Request layers that correspond to real editing decisions. Too few layers limit control, while unnecessary fragments can make the file harder to manage. Available layer counts also depend on the selected plan and settings.
Does a layered PSD make text and shapes fully native?
Not automatically. Generated visual layers are separate raster elements; a layered PSD does not guarantee editable typography, vector paths, smart objects, or nondestructive adjustment layers.
