What the sketch should communicate

Treat the drawing as a map of relationships. It does not need to perform the rendering model's job.

Show where the major subject and supporting forms sit in the frame.

Use crossings and occlusion to communicate what is in front or behind.

Build the image in deliberate passes

Start with large marks

Block out the subject, ground plane, horizon, and dominant background form. Choose brush size, opacity, and color for legibility rather than finish. If the silhouette is confusing at this stage, added detail will not repair the underlying composition.

Correct the structure before rendering

Use eraser, undo, redo, or clear when a line changes the scene's reading. The editable sketch is the inexpensive stage; resolve major proportion and overlap problems there.

Add words only for invisible information

Optional direction text can specify material, setting, time of day, lighting, or an ambiguous object's identity. Avoid repeating facts the drawing already makes clear; use text to complete the brief, not replace the sketch.

Choose when the model responds

Generate manually when you want a deliberate checkpoint. Auto mode requests an updated interpretation after a completed stroke, following a short delay; a new edit can cancel an in-flight request so the drawing remains responsive.

Iterate one decision at a time

Change the composition, direction text, or style separately when possible. If several variables change together, it becomes harder to understand why an iteration improved or drifted.

AI interpretation is variable. A rough or ambiguous mark may be read as a different object, small proportions can drift, and fine details may change between generations. A realistic surface finish does not prove that the underlying structure is correct.

Review anatomy, perspective, object boundaries, repeated details, and spatial relationships before treating a result as final. Use the output as an iteration, not as a guaranteed reconstruction of the sketch.
